Lewis. Extra chilli sauce. No onions.

Our little shop mascot Lewis Stritch (now a fully-fledged member of the Gul team) came in for a new wetsuit today. As with all sponsored riders, a brand expects a certain amount of return from riders it invests in. This is often in the form of massive media exposure wherever possible.
However, here at Gul Bude, we expect a little more.
Here, we expect our sponsored riders to don the suit when they're given it, and do a circuit of the block, no matter the weather or conditions. It's also stipulated that they round off the circuit by buying a kebab that we can all share.
Sadly, KJ's was shut.
But we don't forget Lewis... When there's a free donner involved, we never forget....

Sunset Surf Classic - Team Gul dominates!

I can fill you in now on how Lewis did at the final of the BLU championships in Gwithian last weekend.
I've left this a bit late but I was waiting to hear the final word from Lewis on what happened. Turns out, he was popped for a little interference call, thus denying him the top spot in the Under 18's that he'd been tipped for. Still, overall he came a very respectable 2nd in England and 3rd in the UK. No bad result at all, and we're stoked more than ever that he's riding for us! Good work Lewis! Great work also from all the others on the Gul team who placed high including James Parry (the winner, doesn't get much better than that really...) Ben Haworth, Becky Stanhope and Matt Travis. All placed great. What a team. Here's a couple of shots of Lewis in action. C

Lewis Stritch enters the finale

Our man in the water, Lewis Stritch, has possibly his most critical contest this weekend. We know that he's capable of a win - this is a young man who cuts his own hair, often really badly. That says all you need to know about his confidence.
Lewis, all of us here in Bude are rooting for you.
Tom's even offered to Riverdance up Belle Vue if you win.
Good luck Welsh. C

Our boy Lewis is doing very, very well...

Every day's a school day, Lewis.

Lewis is off with several of the Gul crew this weekend to surf at the Inter Celtic games in Spain. He needed a wetty to compliment those warmer temperatures, so we fitted him out in a Response Short John. Of course as with most things in this life, nothing comes for free and we felt that Lewis is better off learning that from us than some snake-oil salesman down the line. So it was out with the Pledge and duster...

We've got a Bobby Dazzler shiny shop now. Do come and say hello.

Lewis: Killing it.

Who is currently Number 1 in the UK Under-18 Longboarders?
Well, that'd be our boy, Lewis Stritch.

Good work Lewis.

Gul Bude presents... Lewis Stritch

We're proud to introduce our first shop sponsor here at Gul Bude - Lewis Stritch. Lewis is a bit handy with a longboard and is currently ranked no less than 1st in the UK under-18's. He's been consistently pulling in great contest results and will be heading to the Celtic Games in Spain with Ben Skinner and another Gul lad, James Parry. He's competing at the Gul sponsored (deep breath) Hotdoggers Saunton Epic Longboard Championship in North Devon over the weekend. We proudly handed him his shiny new Summer Red Viper wetsuit this morning...

...but unfortunately for Lewis, nothing in this world is free, so we made him work for it first...

...but he was PUMPED when he left the shop. Good luck Lewis!
