You'll always find me LOVING THE 80'S

Here's a little doff of the cap back to Leopallooza in the Summer - this band, Man Like Me, played and bedazzled on the main stage, becoming many peoples favourite act over the entire weekend. Then, a few days ago, reports started coming in to me that they'd been spotted on an advert for a popular Scandinavian furniture company. A little Youtube hit later and it turns out it's true. So here you go, this is them covering Jona Lewie's 1980 hit You'll Always Find me in the Kitchen at Parties - It's chuffing cool. C

Leopallooza - Last Post

3 days have passed since Leopallooza and already stories and good times are starting to fade from memory. That could just be my memory though - it's notoriously bad at the best of times.
Just taken delivery of some photos from our official photographer, so I thought I'd share a few good ones. Here you go:

A Jolly Weekend

I'm a bit tired today. The little festival I'm involved with (Leopallooza.com) went on over the weekend. But of course, being involved in such an event, it's not just the weekend - the days immediately prior to it consisted of very little (if any) sleep. And even after a great nights kip last night, I'm still in need of some pillow time. But it was also good fun, and I've got some good memories. Even better, some of these memories consist of Gul managers. Tee (Padstow) was having her very own party in front of the stage at one point and Amy (Newquay) barely made it out of the campsite and James (Truro) just looked downright merry. I'm pretty sure they all had a good time. I hope so.
Back to the shop now though and, luckily, my camera (which I couldn't find all weekend) had been left here all along. What was a little odd, and not a little disturbing in my vulnerable, tired state, was this picture which had appeared on my camera during the weekend...

Don't try and explain Tom. You'll just make it worse.

Eliza-pallooza

Less than 2 weeks now until North Cornwalls' fastest growing festival breaks cover. It's set in a lovely little valley somewhere between the quiet land-locked village of Week St Mary and the roaring seas and towering cliffs of Crackington Haven. The very contrasting line up this year consists of, amongst many others, The King Blues and their distinct brand of punk polemic and the increasingly starward-bound Eliza Doolittle, who is currently Number 3 in the Official UK album charts and Number 8 in the singles chart.
I've been to every single one since Leopallooza started 5 years ago. In the slightly less 'legitimate' days, stories would abound of 'incidents'. One involved a hotwired tractor. Another involved a girl stuck in a hole for 6 hours until she was found by a man having a wee-wee. Fortunately, since then the tractors have been removed, portaloos introduced and the holes filled. Strict safety guidelines are now followed to the letter. What it lost in mortal danger it has totally made up for in feelgood factor.
I'm going again this year (I kind of have to, I'm part of the crew...) but I'd recommend it to anyone - young, old(ish), rockers and ravers, surfers and emos. It's a cracking party. Leopallooza 2010

Summer is but an itchy gnat bite away, and no Summer in North Cornwall is complete without the sublime Leopallooza Festival. Taking place on Saturday 31st July, and now in it's 5th year, it will be hosting acts as diverse as The King Blues and Eliza Doolittle.

As always, there'll be touches of the unexpected... rumours of a 'Rockstar Graveyard' abound. As do the 'Breakfast in Bed' whispers....

We're stoked to be the main stockist of Leopallooza tickets here in Bude. They're £20 each, for 12 hours of music, 20 bands and free camping. Kids under 10 go free.
