Cold

Cold (the opposite of hot) refers to the condition or subjective perception of having low temperature.

The coldest theoretically possible temperature is absolute zero which, quite honestly, we think it is today.

Fortunately we have everything you can possibly need to combat these less than warm days so pop in, bring a steaming cup of coffee and thumb through our winter woollies - you won't regret it!

Emma must have been a Girl Guide, she's not daft, she came prepared this morning...

Emma wears: Cheer Cardigan in Vanilla; Bronte Gilet in Navy; Perran Striped Scarf; Perran Strip Beanie; Freestyle Mittens; Fistral Ears Beanie in Blue AND White

One Man And His Campervan (and lovely family)

Martin Dorey, friend and frequenter of this very shop, has a TV series coming out next year. Regular readers may well remember Martin. He not only contributed to our photo contest back in April, he also sent us this lovely little shot of a prim hound having a dainty dump.
BBC 2 commissioned a 10-part series after the release of his first book, the very popular 'Camper Van Cookbook'. It airs in February.

So, in anticipation, here's a little trailer - One Man And His Campervan

Guest Blog

High time for another guest blog so I'm going to post an old favourite today because it's Saturday and that's traditionally old favourites day.
It contains nudity. But then so does life. C

Yo! Ville.

Our esteemed colleagues here at Gul are busy beavering away on our new concept store, soon to open in Yeovil, Somerset. We really like the brickwork, we really like the lamp. We want the brickwork and we want the lamp.
Go on, giz it... C

Dig it out

Want an idea of some of the paraphernalia we're hoping will make it's way onto tabletops at the surf jumble? Well here you go. I was necessarily going through old boxes of my stuff that was in my Mums attic. She's moving house so I was told in no uncertain terms that if I want my stuff kept out of the local landfill, I'd best take a fast interest in moving it elsewhere. So in an attempt to whittle down my lifes belongings to a manageable few boxes, I was forced to revisit the question of the necessity in keeping stuff I may never use again, sentimental or practical as it may still be/have once been.
And then I came across a trove of old surf goodies, including one of my first surf mags, Wavelength #2 (frustratingly, I did have issue one, but it seems to have gone the way of lots of my old stuff. Mice food.)
A great find, with Gul represented on many pages. It even has a page 3 girl. They truly don't make them like they used to. C

The Gul Bude Surf Jumble & Board Swap!

We've had this up our sleeve for a bit, only pulling the cuffs back now and then to reveal a little tantalising glimpse. To say we're very excited about it is an understatement. Just think of all that garage and attic based surf-related booty that must be hidden away gathering dust and value....
Be sure to get in touch as soon as possible if you're interested in a stall (first come, first served!) Call on 01288 354484 or email us at gul.bude@btconnect.com. We'll provide the tables and chairs, you provide the jumble. Because we love jumble. But we also like cakes, art and all sorts... if you think you have something to bring to the table (literally) that would fit in nicely, call us and we'll let you know exactly what we think, in a very diplomatic manner.
